Job Summary

Creates a credible, non-intimidating and service driven environment that supports and encourages a fit and healthy lifestyle.  Provides individualized and group nutrition instruction for all members.  

Summary Of Essential Job Functions:

Attract and Retain members by consistently providing excellent customer service and participates with team toward member retention goals

Responsible for interacting with employees, members and guests in a manner aligned with the People, Places and Programs components of the Village Standards

Develop relationships with members based on their interests and goals and work on offering unique and creative nutrition programming

Responsible for building partnerships with other departments to increase interest in Nutrition program and promote the benefits of incorporating fitness with proper diet.

Determine client’s interests and refer them to Personal Training , Activities i.e., hiking or biking groups, Pilates, Group Exercise or Racquet Sports etc. when appropriate

Provide one-on-one Nutrition consultations with clients and potential clients

Actively encourage follow-up and progression with all clients and keeps an updated record in MS Excel and in the member’s account as instructed by Fitness Director.

Hold workshops, lectures, or cooking demonstrations once a month at a minimum

Send out nutrition newsletters or e-mail blasts on a quarterly basis

Responsible for contacting, scheduling and providing all new member nutrition consultations

Must attend all mandatory trainings and meetings.

Will be required to attend member events and parties to help and mingle with members on a quarterly basis and other duties as assigned


Skills / Requirements

Knowledge/Skills Required:

Must have a BS or BA in Nutrition

Must be a certified Registered Dietitian

Minimum of at least two years of Nutrition programming/consultation experience

Ability to promote nutrition packages

Excellent interpersonal skills, comfortable with large groups as well as one-on-one interactions and be able to work with all populations including athletes, pregnancy, and special populations.

Ability to develop and maintain positive member relationships and provide outstanding customer service

Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and the internet.

Ability to adhere to flexible schedule

Initiative, self-motivation, high degree of responsibility and team player

Obtain CPR certification within 30 days of hire through company training



Knowledge/Skills Preferred:

Certified Registered Dietician MS in Nutrition  

CSSD (Certified Sports Specialist in Dietetics) preferred

Fitness industry certification preferred (training, group fitness)

Physical Activity
This position requires some standing, walking, lifting, grasping, bending and kneeling for filing.  Sitting for some periods of time. Substantial repetitive movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.  Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Involved in activities where one must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly. Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Requires the ability to receive detailed information through written and oral communication.  

Physical Requirement
Sedentary work involving sitting some of the time. Walking and standing are required daily.  Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. In addition, may involve physical movement which includes sports and activities related to membership events and programs.

Visual Requirement
This position requires close visual acuity to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing computer monitors and extensive reading.

Working Conditions 
It involves typical office or administrative work and member outdoor activity.
